6 Favorite Highlighters

6 Favorite Highlighters

Highlighters are by far one of my favorite beauty products. I love having a dewy and sun-kissed glow all year long. I am always on the market for new products. Before I purchase I consult with my cousin Marissa who is a makeup expert, (follow her on Instagram!) before purchasing new products. The 6 products I have detailed below are my favorite highlighters I have come across so far. 4 of these products are products to splurge for and 2 of these products are drugstore duplicates to save money (I will detail below). Let me know which ones you will be trying out or love!

1. SPLURGE: NARS Illuminator in Super Orgasm $30 (center left)

This was one of the very first highlighters I ever purchased. This is my second bottle and as you can tell it is near the end. If you are looking for a dewy highlighter look, this is your go to. It gives your face that sexy wet glow. I purchased the Super Orgasm color, as I am a HUGE fan of the Super Orgasm NARS blush. When applying I put a little on the back of my hand and rub right above the cheekbone using my fingers. Apply generously!!

2. SAVE: NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator in Gleam $7.49 (center right)

If you are looking for a less expensive version of the NARS Illuminators, this is your go to. It gives the same appearance as the Illuminators with a dewy glow. I purchased the Born To Glow in the color Gleam as I wanted a cooler shade than my NARS Illuminator.

3. SAVE: NYX Illuminator in Ritualistic $8.99 (first from right)

The NYX Illuminator in Narcissistic is an amazing duplicate for the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmer Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. They both have that gorgeous rosy gold glow. I will say that I do prefer the Jaclyn Hill highlighter as it is a little creamier. I purchased the NYX Illuminator in the color Ritualistic, I wanted something a little more icy and cool toned. I love using this shade with a smokey eye and darker makeup. I feel like sometimes the warm toned highlighters can take away from dramatic eye makeup.

4. SPLURGE: Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop $38 (second from right)

This is a recent purchase and by far a favorite! As you know, I absolutely love Jaclyn Hill I trust her opinion on all her favorites and religiously follow her tutorials. So when she came out with a highlighter with Becca I knew it would be amazing. The highlighter to me is like a rose gold shade. To me it gives sort of a natural sun-kissed glow as it is a blend between a blush color and a bronzy shade. It is super easy and applies effortlessly.

5. SPLURGE: Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder in Aura $30 (third from right)

This highlighter can be used for the face as well as the body! If you are looking for a sun-kissed glow from head-to-toe like you just stepped off the beach, this is your go to. The Aura color is a beautiful creamy baked color. I find it to be very similar to the Jaclyn Hill highlighter, except a little more bronzy! Apply generously as it is VERY shimmery.

6. SPLURGE: Smashbox Baked Fusions SoftLights in Starburst or Baked Starburst $32 (fourth from Right)

This is a highlighter I stole from my mother – sorry mom. The one that I have was a limited edition product and came in a set with a few other products. The one I have linked above is very similar. The Baked Fusion SoftLights is more of a blush type highlighter with more pinky tones. Personally it is a little too shimmery for me to use as a blush so I use it a little higher as a highlighter. Also, I love mixing this one with the NYX Illuminator in Ritualistic for an extra glow.
